The Start:
Our customer needed a complete kitchen renovation that worked for both family use and for professional cake decorating. We needed to reconfigure the space to provide all the modern equipment required for a home business, but maintaining a ‘homely’ feel.
The Middle:
Combining the work with the installation of a new central heating system for the client meant we could replace the large boiler unit from the kitchen with a smaller, more efficient system housed in the garage. This created more space for us to construct bespoke storage and configure housing for a professional microwave and integrated double oven.
We sourced a professional sink, tap and modern lighting and crafted extra deep and hard-wearing work surfaces. The deeper worktops posed a challenge for the units and cupboards underneath, so we created larger, stronger brackets for extra support and sourced local granite from an independent supplier and coordinated installation of extra deep granite worktops. We even strengthened the timber floor to remove any ‘flexing’ enabling us to lay 600mm by 600mm porcelain floor tiles with no concern over them cracking over time.
The Finish:
The customer was thrilled with her new modern kitchen and was eager to show off the ‘wow factor’ to her friends and clients. The new boiler is discreetly housed in the garage freeing up valuable space in the kitchen. The bespoke cupboards make the best use of space, whilst complementing the chosen style of kitchen units. Every inch of space is highly functional for professional cake decorating, yet remains modern, attractive and homely.
